Chromium on pi zero? or a good alternative?

Mon Nov 30, 2015 9:47 pm

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help!!! :D

I am trying to set up a kiosk server to auto start on boot with some PHP content I have locally....
I have tried installing chromium but it does not seem to exist?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install chromium
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package chromium is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
  chromium-inspector chromium-bsu

E: Package 'chromium' has no installation candidate
I was wondering if anyone knows of any good alternative to chromium? or how to get chromium installed on a raspberry pi zero?
I am using a raspberry pi zero with the latest version of raspbian jessie

Would appreciate any help!!!
thanks :D

That's 32 bit Linux and the official Chrome, not chromium.
There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.

Absolutely not worth reading, what has that got to do with Chromium om ARMv6 Debian ?

Chromium on ARMv4/6 Platform development was dropped when Google changed to Blink Engine, and Debian pulled from their Repository
