Extended Heigth Raspberry Pi B+ Case

Mon Mar 02, 2015 5:43 pm

I am looking for an extended height Raspberry Pi B+ Case. I need a minimum of 40 cm of internal clearance for my Raspberry Pi B+ to allow room for a daughter board that is mounted on the 40-pin GPIO header. I did a Google search but didn't find anything suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.

What level of enclosure do you need?

if a case with open sides is acceptable then there are plenty of "plexiglass and standoffs" style cases where you could easilly swap out the standoffs to get whatever height you want.

if you want a case that encloses the sides then the pibow series may be a good choice, you can buy "Extension layer"s which let you build up to whatever height you require.

The Cyntech B+ Cases http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/83-16353 employ 10mm spacers http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/83-16384 that can be stacked to reach the height you desire.

The ModMyPi modular B+ case may also be of interest:

(FWIW, one of my B+'s lives in one:

- without an extra spacer at the mo'.)
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, A+ and a B2) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

This is fantastic. Thank you all for the feedback on these cases.
