USB to Canon camera - stops working after waking up camera?

Sat Sep 13, 2014 7:51 am

I've hooked my Pi up to a Canon 600d camera. Running lsusb detects the camera and then using gphoto2 to take a pic. All working great.

The problem is after the camera goes to sleep, I press a button to wake it up but then the Pi no longer detects it as a usb device.

Nothing under lsusb.

I've have a few posts about running usbreset.c which I have tried but it doesn't help.

I have to unplug and reconnect the cable to get it working again.

Anyone has similar issues or know a workaround.

Still not having any luck - tried with and without a usb hub. Doesnt make any difference.

When the camera goes to sleep:

Code: Select all

[ 111.172690] usb 1-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 4
After waking up the camera - its not detected :(

Hello , everyone, I have a small proyect:
I can´t make working my camera with gphoto2.
RPI see the camera at the USB port and I can no make it work . Not take a picture , not download pictures from camera , etc ..... not functions at all.
I ´m new in raspberry , linux and all that , so maybe I did not configure the parameters of the camera in RPI and gphoto2 :( :( :( .
Can someone help me to make my canon 600d working whith RPI ?????
My porpuse is just to dowload the images from sd card on camera to a usb drive in RPI or internal sd card of RPI.

Thank you , I´m lost.

( sorry about my English :? :? :? )

Once you have your camera plugged in to the pi - run lsusb

Does it detect your camera?

Im interested to know if you have the same problem as me. if you leave your camera and it goes to sleep, when you wake it up does the Pi still detect the camera?

Mine doesn't - it might detect it once after a wake up but 9/10 times it doesn't.

Hello,

I am having exactly the same problem as you. Seems like the camera cannot be awakened by the USB port. Is that right?

Did you find a workaround to this?

Thanks.
