Raspberry and Airplay with rplay

I'm trying to use Airplay on my Raspberry.
I tried to follow this guide:

https://www.instructables.com/id/AirPla ... using-RPi/

but at step 4 I stopped, because raspberry gave me an error.
I tried to access the link http://localhost:7100/admin and the RPI returns me:

The site can't be reached. Localhost refused to connect.

What could it be? I tried also from another computer replacing localhost with the address of the raspberry in the local network (all connected to the same wifi) but it still doesn't work.

Thanks.

I think that’s a dead product - the owners site has gone and I’m sure that the latest version of iOS had problems with it.

There is a note from last year where you had to

Code: Select all

sudo apt install libjpeg8
and do a reboot to get the site up.

No idea why a reboot is needed - very little Linux installs need this...

Ok, I'll try this, thank you.

So, if rplay is a dead product, how can I use my RPI3 as an Airplay receiver?
I tried within Kodi, but it streams only audio...

PS: It works with lijpeg8, but now RPI3 is not discoverable in the iPhone Airplay.

As for using the Pi, if you do a search on here you will find a few long running threads about using the Pi but with the ‘walled garden’ Apple runs as their business model you may find its cheaper to buy an Apple TV to save the frustration.

I gave up with streaming from Apple to the Pi last year
