Interfacing directly with Waveshare 3.5" Screen

Tue Sep 27, 2016 11:47 pm

Hey,

I recently purchased a screen (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013J ... UTF8&psc=1) for my PI.

I installed the LCD Show driver (it seems to use the same driver as the more popular Waveshare screens).

I'm not interested in using the screen as a desktop. I don't need the touch capabilities right now, and would simply like to be able to manually draw shapes in Python.

How would I go about interfacing with the screen through Python, and overriding the fact that the display is being driven like a monitor?

Thanks,
Daniel

Did you ever get anywhere with this? I've just got one of these as well and looking to do the same thing.

Oh i see it was posted in 2016, and only 1 post. Guess not :(
