Can I use Pi;'s GPIO out signal as the signal of RC receiver

Mon May 27, 2013 11:35 pm

I want to controll multicopter using Raspberry Pi.
So.. is it possible to use Pi's GPIO signal as the signal of the RC receiver's(ex. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... ch=turnigy 9x) out signal.

The Pi's GPIO can provide several TTL outputs so assuming you're referring to the 2.4GHz transmitter and not the Pi as a transmitter then I see no reason why it shouldn't work.

If you want to drive servos from Pi GPIO then many RC servos will work with the 3.3V
signal level Pi can output, however some older ones might need a TTL like levels.

There is this thread "Servo's and the raspberry pi" you might want to check
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 26&t=44402

BTW Pi GPIO is not TTL.
