Stand Alone Pi Web control

Tue Oct 02, 2012 7:40 pm

I have a project were I want to use a Pi as an web interface to control an Atmel I/O & CAN board. I plan to have an iPad with a web page running on the Pi and control the I/O via web page.

I am not sure how/what configuration is need on the Pi board, I am using Arch and have the Lamp web server running and I can perform some basic controls & functions. But, I am not sure how do I make the Pi a stand alone web server, can I use static IP address or do I need to setup the Pi as a router?

sure you can use a static ip address, then make the webserver start after boot and you are good to go, but i might suggest using an tornado instead of lamp, as it should be much "lightweight" but of course this depends on which platform you would like to use

Thanks for the feedback, but I still have probelms and it might be with the iPhone as a cannot setup a static IP address on the iPhone. I am reading and just wondering if I need to change the WiFi mode to Ad Hoc get it to connect to my iPhone?

Just intersted if any one has done this and have it up and running.
