This is a tele-presence robot made using Raspberry Pi, Mindstorms Nxt, Usb Robotic arm and a Webcam. This robot is controlled using a very simple web interface and is connected using a wifi dongle.

This robot uses a battery pack and can be recharged while running. Currently is not autonomous, but given all the software available for the raspberry Pi this can be done. Right now is only a platform to move around the house.

Hardware used:

Raspberry Pi
Powered Usb Hub
Battery pack with two usb outputs and one 9v output.
Mindstorms NXT
USB Robotic Arm
Webcam
Wifi Dongle

Software:

Standard Debian distribution from Rasperry Pi website
fswebcam
lighttpd web server
Py-usb downloaded directly from sourceforge
nxt-python
Python
Bourne shell

Inspiration:
I got some inspiration (and code) from this excellent project

http://www.aonsquared.co.uk/raspi_voice_control

And this one:

and the one that sent a raspi to 40 km closer to the edge of the space.
