Internet speeds

Tue May 07, 2019 4:53 am

Hello all,
My goal is to have multiple internet connections to my raspberry ( ie through ethernet, wifi and usb)...
This will increase the overall speed of the internet connection by connecting to a VPN while balancing the traffic across 3 internet connection providers
Speedify does this on windows and also acts as a VPN.
Here is a link to speedify.http://speedify.com/
I have tested it on my computer and it gave me good results
Now , how to i achieve it on my raspberry pi.
Any alternatives are also welcome
My website is at https://pratt.ml
Hope it runs (which it wont)

Do speedify have any Linux support ?

Normal bonding comes with a few caveats, you can not use the bandwith of both interfaces on the same client-server connection because of how IP routing works. But two connections might use different paths. So one big download will not go faster than the fastest link, but browsing, which downloads images/scripts etc. using many connections, will be faster.

Speedify does some special tricks to get around the "routing" problem by providing you with just one VPN-interface on your end, and "the internet" only see you as a single IP on Speedify's VPN-server.

Oh now I get it..... Thanks for the reply.
So basically I don't have any speedify alternative with the VPN on linux right.
Or can I use open VPN with my own server and do the connection like that

I can not say this for sure, I dont have a complete index of Linux software in my head. This is the time where I would google "speedify alternative linux"
