Hi everybody.

I've been testing Kratos (thanks Kratos!) packages for Kodi Jarvis on a fresh Ubuntu Mate 16.04 installation (via berryboot, converting the official image to SquashFS following berryboot instructions).

Unfortunately, just like reported by other users, i can't add tv shows or movies to the library (once media imported to the library, Kodi crash and i must delete database to run again without crasing). Some progress on this issue?

Thanks in advance, and excuse my english.

Regards.

Cheers Kratos! Had a nice time ;)

Nice one! Probably moot if you've got it working, but this seems to indicate that the library issue is due to the compiler; MATE 16.04 on pi has gcc 5 it appears?

Looking forward to trying the new builds :)

Thanks for the link! Will check it out and see what I can do. And yes, I believe it is gcc 5.

Here is Kodi 17! I have not had a chance to do any others yet. Tell me if you have the same problems. Remember to remove your current Kodi version.

The library works!! :D Congratulations! What was it, in the end?

Still messing about with it at the moment; had a few random crashes, which i didn't seem to be getting on the previous version, though... I've turned off all the eye-candy and it seems more stable.

Works for me too. I have imported several tv shows an movies and no issues at the moment. Thanks!!! Wondefull job. :D

In the other hand, I have a problem with CEC and my tv remote is not working, may someone can help me...

I installed cec-utils to test my tv remote (it work well with cec-client and with kodi on my Pi 3 in Raspbian Jessie). However in Ubuntu Mate 16.04 (same Pi 3) is not working. I have next error when launch cec-client:

No device type given. Using 'recording device'
CEC Parser created - libCEC version 3.0.1
no serial port given. trying autodetect: FAILED

Same problem when launching with sudo. I have watch kodi log, but can't find errors about cec and tv remote do nothing on kodi.

Anyone have problems with tv remote on Ubuntu Mate 16.04? Any ideas of what could be the problem or what can i test?

My installation for Raspbian Jessie and for Ubuntu Mate its via BerryBoot.

Thanks again.

Regards.

Great! Kodi 16 is cooking in the Pi Bakery at the moment, should be done any minute now. Try install libcec like so:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install libcec3
That might do the trick.

The solution was in the link you provided, disabling optimizations.

Kratos,
Does Npvr not come loaded in the new Kodi 17? This might seem like an odd question but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thank you for the awesome work on this build.

Latest Kodi 17 build. I tried some thing a bit different this time, which allowed me to enable optimizations. Give it a shot!

I have not built it yet. If you want it, it will be no problem for me to build it quick. Then, you can install the pvr stuff and it should work.

Kratos, this afternoon's build of 17 is absolutely spot on... no issues to report so far, except it's still a little touch-and-go exiting back to the desktop. (Meh, I can totally live with that!)

Thanks so much for your work on this, you've done loads!

YAY!!! Glad I am able to help! I am currently working on a solution for the black screen bug fix. Kodi 17 appears to be a bit different, so I shall do some digging. Cheers!

Hi.

Kratos, your new Kodi 17 build works great for me too!! Thanks.

The libcec3 package is alredy installed in its last version :(

The problem is neither cec-client nor kodi seems to detect nothing (trying autodetect: FAILED).

Any other ideas would be welcome.

Thanks again.

What happens if you just start kodi? Correct me if I am wrong, but, it sounds like you are manually starting cec. I don't think you need to do that.

When i start kodi, the tv remote doesn't work.
But now, it's working!!! Really i don't know why
I write here what i did, just in case it's usefull for anyone.

1. Compile libcec following instructions in https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/b ... /README.md
2. Test, but still not working
3. Reboot. Not working (neither cec-client nor kodi)
4. Purge libcec3 (sudo apt-get purge libcec3)
5. Start Kodi and... VOILA! Cec working :D
6. Exit Kodi and test cec-client that works too :D

I don't understand why, but now everything about cec is working well.

Thanks Kratos for your support and, of course, your Kodi builds.

Regards.

Kratos,
Is there a way to add the npvr add-on that normally comes packaged with kodi?

Actually, it looks like it is only supported on Windows:
NextPVR is a free Personal Video Recorder (PVR) application for Microsoft Windows.

gpu_mem should be at least 160 MB. 128 MB is good enough for omxplayer to play full HD videos, but kodi itself requires some memory for its OpenGL ES interface.
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer
