Speech To Text

Mon Apr 01, 2013 10:46 pm

Hi everyone, I'm trying to code a Speech to text program in Python. So far I have ESpeak working and I have code (Which I will post below) that allows me to record from a USB mic. I am using Raspbian Wheezy. Thanks!

Code: Select all

import subprocess

record = ["arecord", "-f", "cd", "-d", "5", "-D", "plughw:1,0", "myrecording.wav"]

p = subprocess.Popen(record, stdout=subprocess.PIPE)

You could try Google's Voice API, if you want to do speech recognition when you do have internet.

You can also try Pocketsphinx for offline recognition. The thing is that Pocketsphinx didn't work well for me.......

For Google Speech Recognition: http://campus.albion.edu/squirrel/2012/ ... th-python/

If it doesn't suit you, google it.

Return to “Python”
