Editing label XML and Print to DYMO 450 Turbo on RasPi

Sun Dec 02, 2018 8:30 pm

I currently have a project running on Windows with a Dymo 450 Turbo. However, I need to port it over to Linux (Raspberry Pi).

The project is built on Javascript. It takes a user's input (scanned data from a QR code), splits the data into 3 different sections, and formats (font, size, location) as necessary to fit correctly on the label (3/4" x 2"). Then prints said label. Everything works perfectly as is, using Javascript inserting the data pieces into label XML.

I have the Raspberry Pi up and running, with CUPS installed, and gLabel (to test printing), and am able to print labels to the 450 Turbo. However, after days of researching and trying different methods, because there is no direct DYMO SDK for Linux, I cannot figure out how to modify the XML data of a label and print the updated label like I can with Javascript on Windows.

I am willing to change languages if needed, I just don't know what I should be using (C++, node.js, Python, Java).

Can someone please point me in the right direction?
(If you'd like me to post my current code, let me know)
