FFMPEG /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0: Value too large for defined data type

Mon Oct 15, 2018 8:28 pm

I'm trying to create a chrome cast stream from the HD TV Antenna because buying a $5 cable and running it to the TV is just to simple.

Converting from mpeg2video to H264 always return this error but only on HD channels.
I can't get past "/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0: Value too large for defined data type." I tried both h264_omx and libx264 codex. It stop about 175 frames in.

I have a feeling that if I switched to 64 Bit it would solve this issues but I can't find one for version PI 3 B+.

I have Hauppauge 1595. It works if I use dvblast RTP stream. I can load it on the Mac and the quality is perfect. I tired Fedora 28 but the drive for the DVB device is not working.

Has anyone came across the same issue and found a fix?
