Does LIRC support hardware PWM?

Fri Jun 28, 2019 3:30 pm

I have a Pi Zero W and I'm trying to keep CPU usage down. If I connect an infrared LED to one of the hardware PWM pins, say pin 12 (GPIO18/PWM0), and use LIRC will it light it up at 38 kHz using hardware PWM or does it drive it with software?
