Defining Wireless Interfaces (2)

Fri Jan 04, 2019 3:26 am

My pi 3 has 2 wireless adapters in it, the built in one, and an Edimax USB adapter. Something I am noticing is that the Raspbian OS doesn't seem to have preference to which adapter it defines as Wlan0 and Wlan1. Is there a configuration setting somewhere that i can I define by it's hardware MAC address which adapter is Wlan0 and which is Wlan1 on boot? (One acts as an AP, and the other connects to my wifi Network, it gets problematic when assigning a static IP when the PI switches which wifi adapter it's going to use)

You could try http://ask.xmodulo.com/change-network-i ... linux.html

I’ve no USB adapter free at the mo (you could try asking my wife for it back from her laptop but I ain’t that brave) but using a monitor and keyboard will let you undo it if you cannot get back in via WiFi

Let us know if it works :)
Need Pi spray - these things are breeding in my house...
