Where to get kernel headers for kernel 4.9.y

Thu Mar 02, 2017 11:50 am

When using kernel 4.4.y I can use apt-get to install raspberrypi-kernel-headers package and it installs to /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build. After installation, that folder has lots of subfolders, config files and makefile as well. All good.

Now when I use kernel 4.9.y I can't get the headers using apt-get (obviously). I tried compiling the kernel headers from source by checking out the kernel and using

Code: Select all

make INSTALL_HDR_PATH=/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build headers_install
but all I get out of that is an "include" folder.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Where did you obtain the 4.9 kernel and what were your steps to build it? If you include the build output here, we could perhaps look for clues.
