OK LED off most of the time following rpi-update

I've used the rpi-update utility to get the latest kernel and firmware to see if it addresses some USB errors. Following the upgrade the 'OK' LED is off most of the time and occasionally flashes on. The Pi appears to operate normally. I've done this with two SD cards, each behaves the same. If I flash them back to the state I had before the update, the LED stays on.. My installation is fairly standard, just the April Debian and a VNC server. The version details after update are :

Has anyone else observed this behaviour? Should I be concerned?

Mine is the same. I think that light is meant to flash for SD card access so that makes sense.

If I have no wired ethernet then I have the Red Power LED on solid and occasional flashes on the OK LED. All other LED's being off.

If I have a wired Ethernet connected then I get the three LED's associated with that coming on as well (2 green and one yellow) - ending up with quite a light show

That is correct. I had always intended the LED to be lit when SDCARD was being accessed, but the initial kernel had that inverted.

Occasional flashed on (typical from sdcard) are much more visible than occasional flashed off.

Thank you for the information, I'll trust this update then. Perhaps 'OK' isn't the best legend to have on the silk screen. I'm sure other users will also interpret the absence of light as signifying 'NOT OK'

It's not as bad as "10M"

You get the same if the file system is copied to a memory stick. On boot-up OK flashes once, briefly. But after that the SD card is not being accessed so OK does not light up again.

Having run it I get
Using SoftFP libraries
/opt/vc/sbin/vcfiled: error while loading shared libraries: libvchiq_arm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory?

Suggestions please?
