Just to let everyone know, I've now uploaded the image to drop box as well, hopefully that'll be much faster!

:D

Cool, but be careful, IIRC if you use over 20 gb/day on a public file they suspend your account!

I think I managed to get it from skydive last night so ill try image my sd card and run it today :)

Dropbox: They do? That seems a bit mean, I can't seem to find anywhere else with the bandwidth to upload it sadly (I've even asked a few friends!)

But anyway, hope you enjoy the image and let me know how you get on :D

Yeah your public links stop working for 72hrs if you go over 20gb in a day (per free account, pro account is 200gb) . If you do it again the suspension time goes up!

Don't worry, I'll be sure to post back my problems or successes!

You can use http://www.box.com . You ca upload 5.0GB with the free account. I don't know what download limits they have.

EDIT: I see now they have a 25MB file size limit with the free account.

Hey, Thanks for your image, Was waiting for a new SD card to put it on but its not turned up - so used a microSD but seems to be working!

One thing that really got me stumped was the Ethernet turns up under eth1 not eth0! and there's no ifconfig (because its depreciated, used 'ip addr' instead). and under /etc/network/interfaces still has eth0 written in it!
The eth0 thing may be to do with my TV card, no idea...
Oh and sudo is missing which confused me because the default pi image comes with it!

Anyway, I've downloaded my firmware and put it in /lib/firmware, but my device doesn't seem to show up under /dev/dvb
It shows up under lsusb (after installing usb utils)

I've tried modprobe dvb-usb-it913x (and it913x-fe) but neither of them are found. LinuxTV wiki says my device were supported from 3.2, so would they not be there in this old kernel?
What do you recon?

On mine It appears as eth0.

It looks like they are only supported out of box in 3.2, I think you'd have to build the drivers for 3.19, You could build v4l on your Pi, but you'll need the kernel source, you can generate yourself one by following the first post here (obviously changing the destination directory to /lib/modules/3.1.9dvb+/build).

Hope this helps.

Must be a problem my end with eth1 thing!

Thanks for your image and help, I know it takes effort to do these things and I really appriciate it! will try building V4L though don't know if it will work! Or maybe I'll just buy a different dvb-t stick...

Hi,

interesting project, I have attempted to use my not used Pinnacle PCTV 72e
but could do with beginners guide if anyone could help that would be appreciated.

I am testing it on my testing Debian Laptop as RPi is connected somewhere else
as a simple NAS, but would like to add this project to it as well when I get next month
to play with it.

This is where I got to so far:
Managed to load the firmware for Pinnacle PCTV 72e as per

Looks like you've downloaded a compressed tarball. You'll need to uncompress it before being able to configure/make. Try: tar xjf pydvbstreamer-0.1.tar.bz2.

You need to install libreadline5 not readline.

I see on the main page of the DVBStreamer is this:
Before building DVBStreamer you will need the latest version of the following packages:

sqlite3 (3.3.x)
readline

Anyway, I have libreadline5 already installed but can't install the DVBStreamer :(

Anyone having trouble I'd use Chris Boots kernel http://www.bootc.net/projects/raspberry-pi-kernel

It's 3.2 and my devices now show in dev/null and tune with szap/tzap just fine :-)

Hi there!

I've also been excited with Raspberry Pi acting like a media center and providing DVB-T support.
I've written a short how-to build an OpenELEC PVR here.
