Simultaneous HDMI and Analog Video

Sun Apr 21, 2013 5:29 pm

First, is it possible to obtain simultaneous output from both the HDMI and analog ports (same image?)

Second, can I have a separate desktop on each? Or extend the desktop onto the second monitor.

If either (or both) are possible, how would I achieve this?

Thanks.

To my knowledge, it isn't possible to use both video outputs at the same time..

No. You can use HDMI or composite/RCA, not both at once.

Is this a hardware or firmware issue, then with no workaround?

If so, it looks like using a second Raspberry Pi with remote desktop and SSH into it to achieve pretty much the same result as I wanted.

it is hardware - only one of the outputs is available.

if you want to run 2 screens you can have a Tau .... I mean 2 Pi.

Thanks, Rattus.

I'll have a Raspberry Tau, then! :P
