youtube audio problem

Sat Feb 23, 2013 5:33 pm

I think I have done everything...

I downloaded the correct version of youtube-dl.

I downloaded and installed the proper _init_py file.

I changed the mplayer to include '-ohdmi'

I updated and upgraded the rasbain wheezy ...

I downloaded installed and ran rpi-upgrade ... upgrading the firmware.

When I run yt, it provides a beautiful picture ... but no sound....

any help would be appreciated

Have you configured the sound output ?

Note about above link sudo amixer cset numid=3 0 this is actually an auto-dectect setting, for HDMI use use sudo amixer cset numid=3 2

For example when I do
sudo echo "# Load snd-bcm2835.ko at boot" > /etc/modules-load.d/snd-bcm2835.conf

I get an error message no file or directory

baffled....

I had the same problem with youtube sound on my rPi 3, and Cloudcentric's link helped me fix it. Ultimately sound output was set to "auto", and switching it to "3.5mm" was what it took, using the command...

Code: Select all

amixer cset numid=3 1
Thanks!
