[Help] Installing D-Link AC600 to get 5Ghz networks to a RPi 3B

Tue Aug 20, 2019 1:33 am

I have a Raspberry Pi 3B running LibreElec. I'm trying to get it onto a 5ghz network, so I bought this guy: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CL ... UTF8&psc=1

I THINK it's seeing it as a wifi adapter, but there is no additional wlan under ifconfig, and I can't see the 5ghz networks.

Is this even possible to install on this guy, while running libreElec? Or should I run a different OS, with Kodi on top instead?

Once the adapter is connected, lsusb shows:
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0bda:1a2b Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0424:ec00 Standard Microsystems Corp. SMSC9512/9514 Fast Ethernet Adapter

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

and lsmod shows:

dmesg shows this after connecting:

I'm not sure what to do here.
