PI4 odd core frequency showing

Sun Aug 18, 2019 1:19 pm

Not specifically an issue i just do not understand why but the core frequency is has started showing as 550mhz, I have applied no overclock and as far as i can tell i am using the stock config.txt. Is there any other config that would cause the GPU to show over 500Mhz?

Everything is working and temperatures are normal (50-55C). Just wondering if there is some other gpu/cpu config that i am not aware of.

Thanks

What resolution display do you have plugged in?
The minimum core clock is a function of how many pixels per second we need to shovel out of the HDMI ports, and it is automatically boosted for pixel clock frequencies >240MHz.

That could be it, i switched to 2560 x 1080 a few days ago. Previously was running at a lower resolution, also refresh rate is 75mhz.

So its like a mini auto overclock when high resolutions used?
