Raspberry Pi /etc/network/interfaces file

At my /etc/network/interfaces file there is only:

Is this normal?

Are you confusing that file with /etc/hosts?
Or do you mean the loopback interface "lo"? (type "ip link show" and you'll see it is there)

No i cant use local host when trying to do TCP connection between two Pi.

I’m afraid I don’t understand. Which command are you trying to use? What is the error message?

That seems to be a simple statement of fact.

localhost is a network naming convention that refers to the network host device where the operation is taking place.

It has no useful purpose when attempting to make a network connection between two discrete devices.
