16gb sdhc ruined?

i have a 16gb sd card that i used to download raspbian image to. I was downloading a web cam app when I got an out of space message. when i look at it with ubuntu, there are 2 partitions totaling approx 2 gig. card says it is full. ubuntu says it doesnt have permissions to erase. windows will not even see it. i am lost.

Did you resize the second partition ? You kight need to start your partitioing tool
via gksudo or sudo.

Ya, I think you just need to run

sudo raspi-config

and then select expand root partition

Then reboot, it will get expanded on reboot.
