Fresh Install: Cannot set Wifi Country

Sat Apr 06, 2019 6:07 pm

Hi,

I've installed a fresh Raspbian OS from NOOBS over Wifi. Now when I booted up the OS it says that the Wifi country is not set. It seems no matter what I do I cannot set the country. No error message. Just doesn't seem to save the country. After what seemed to be a smooth installation process I've hit a wall with no feedback.

After much frustration I found this article from a year ago: https://miapple.me/fix-raspberry-pi-wif ... y-not-set/

Is this the recommended fix? Why does this issue persist after a year? NOOBS had no trouble installing an OS over Wifi but Raspbian fails at such a basic task and seems to communicate nothing about the problem. I apologize if my frustration shows, I'm very much confused by this experience.

Have you set the country through raspi-config? If not, run the following code:

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config
Option 2 is the network option
N2 configures Country and Wi-Fi settings

Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a try.
