Problems replaying audio

Mon Jul 02, 2018 2:14 am

I have a network booted my Raspberry Pi 3B+ and I am trying to play some wav files using aplay to play over a set of USB headphones. When I play the ALSA samples from /usr/share/sounds/alsa, the sound is chopped at random points in the play back. The chopping in the audio corresponds to the green activity light flashing. Does anyone have any suggestions to seems to be causing this? I have wireshark running on the host that the Pi has booted from and there appears to be some NFS traffic but I'm not sure that is what the problem is.

Any help would be most appreciated.

I recommend using mplayer.

This command will install the package:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install mplayer
The sound is perfect here:

Code: Select all

mplayer /usr/share/sounds/alsa/*wav
