Hi guys, new to the forum so apologies for any transgressions here.
So i've been using an old Pi (Model 1 Revision B ~ 2011.12) for awhile and happily SSHing into it from my mac terminal which is essential for me to be using scp to copy code and files back and forth.
No I'm using a new Rpi 3 Model B+ (And i have to for scaling up a project for which the old Pi was a prototype) and I cannot SSH into it from my mac even though I have set it up identically.
I have gone through all the usual setup and troubleshooting steps including:
* using sudo raspi-config to enable SSH
* placing an ssh file in /boot
* using ssh-keygen -R <host> on my mac in case of remote host Id complaints.
What's more is that when booting up the new pi I get a warning message of "SSH enabled and default password has not changed" dialog box, the same as I got on my old Pi which tells me that SSH is enabled.
The error I'm getting in my mac terminal when i try to SSH is an "ssh: connect to host 192.168.2.2 port 22: Operation timed out" error
and when i ping the firstname.lastname@example.org I get mostly Request timeout for icmp_seq x (with x incrementing continuously) but occasionally a packet does get through!
Finally when I ping google.com or 192.168.2.1(which is the IP of the ethernet connection from mac to Pi) FROM the pi I get normal packet transmissions.
I'm thorougly confused as to why the SSH is not working please help!
