Hi, so I need to reset my username and password for vnc.

Ive searched everywhere and i think you can reset the vnc password using vncpasswd. However that only comes up with options, and not really how to do it...

I also have no idea how to check what my username i for vnc and I've done multiple methods to change it so now i have no idea what combination of passwords and usernames i have.

Its not pi and raspberry. I cant reimage cause I have way too many packages installed to start over

I've searched all over the web but i think im too frustrated to see the answer, so if anyone can give me some terminal lines to enter to work out how to reset these, id be in debt to you.

Ok i worked it out. Yay me.

In terminal:
Hostname
(You get your hostname)

Now for password, all my attempts werent actually rewriting my password.

In terminal:
sudo mount -o remount,rw /
sudo chmod 640 /etc/shadow
sudo passwd (then whatever you got for hostname)

Boom. Reset your password.
