Pi 3 shows permanent color pixels in top right corner

Fri May 13, 2016 7:17 am

Hi, I tested my new Raspberry Pi 3 today.

Boot from SD with Raspbian Jessie. But the display on screen shows a permanent colored pixels on top right corner of the screen.
This is noticed in command line interface and also in the GUI.

Then II did the "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" and rebooted. But the same coloured pixel on top right corner is still visible.

Anyone has encountered this in their new Pi 3 and solved it ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's a flag to show that your Pi is suffering from undervoltage. You need a proper power supply. See https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/faqs/#power

Thanks Liz it's solved. I've changed to a power adaptor with higher current rating.

The older power adaptor worked for pi 2.

That's expected - The Pi3 requires more current than Pi2. (well, it is a faster SoC, it need more 'petrol')
