Connecting Display To Raspberry Pi

Sun Nov 01, 2015 12:32 pm

I apologise that similar posts have been made however I haven't found definitive answers from them. I don't have much knowledge around this subject so need assistance, I have a 50 pin 5.5 inch screen taken from a e-greetings card. I am unsure of the manufacturer or the resolution. I would like to connect this to the raspberry pi 2 via HDMI to make a mini laptop, however I am not sure which driver board to get, would anyone be able to know what board will work?

Search Ebay [lvds hdmi] to get an idea of what you are looking for.
Then search Ebay with the model number of the screen and/or ask the sellers if they have a board that will work with your screen.

If your screen is not LVDS type then it is not likely there is a 3rd party adapter board.

Note you posted in the wrong sub forum. This one is dedicated to the official RPF screen
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.
