December 3rd - 9th is Hour of Code week, a global initiative that aims to give everyone the opportunity to take part in a coding activity

There are lots of free projects and ideas available at https://hourofcode.com/uk/learn including one of our very own Code Club projects called Boat Race.

For projects aimed at 7 - 11-year-olds, check out those labelled Grade 2 - 5. For projects aimed at 11 - 14-year-olds, check out the ones labelled Grade 6 -8.

If you find a project that works well in your club, why not share the details here and inspire other clubs too.

I've found the Lightbot project goes down well, it starts off really simply but steps up quickly and you really have to think in the later levels when the solution involves a couple of procedures.

I also run a Code Club with no internet access so there I've found the Minecraft and Star Wars projects are great as they can be downloaded in advance and then work in entirety offline including the videos.
