Welcome to the new Code Club forum!

Wed Oct 03, 2018 12:12 pm

Hello everyone!

I am pleased to announce that this is our new online home for members of the Code Club community.

We invite you to support one another by sharing and discussing best practice, tips for running a successful Code Club, and anything you have learned that might be useful to other clubs. It’s also a place to ask any questions that you would like help with, either from others in the Code Club community or from our wider community of volunteers on these discussion forums.

Answers to our most common queries can be found in the Code Club knowledge base (help.codeclub.org). If you would like to reach out directly to the team, please get in touch with support@codeclub.org

Thanks, and happy coding!

Hello!

I've been running a code club for 3 years in Surrey. This school year we've gone up to 22 members which is fantastic but also more of a challenge  This week's code club went perfectly though - especially the new members who have suddenly "got it" and are so excited about the projects they are creating!

Nice to meet everyone here,
Karen

Hello there from Holywood in Northern Ireland, we are a group who meet twice a month in the community room at our local Tesco Extra. We've got some brilliant volunteers and our young coders seem to have a great time learning new skills.

Hi

I am running a couple of Code Clubs in South London - one lunchtime/school based one, as the kids have been doing some scratch, I have started with the microbit projects... proving to be .challenging, but think they are rising to it.

Also run an after school library code club. This is more of a mixed ability session, from 7 years old struggling with code.org to 12-13 year olds trying some Python.

Hello All!

Cheers,
Chris

I made this topic a sticky because otherwise is going to get too long with people introducing themselves.

Please start new threads, there's plenty of storage!

Hey,

I'm Liz the Code Club North West Coordinator.

I've been run a Code Club in a Primary School for a while now and in November I'm starting a Code Club for Looked After Children in a Community Centre in Salford (Greater Manchester, UK). I'm looking forward to starting a completely new club in a different venue :)

Hello from Manchester,

I'm John and I currently run 2 Code Clubs, one every Wednesday at a Primary School in Moston, the other every Saturday at Failsworth Library. I also help out at Manchester and Tameside Coder Dojos and have recently been running Barefoot CAS workshops, so keeping busy!

Very excited about the blog and looking forward to chatting with other clubbers

Cheers

Woohoo! So good to see a Codeclub section of the forum again, and this time with a sub-heading too ;-)

As we seem to be doing introductions;

I'm Darren, and I've been running Codeclubs at a local primary school (in Bicester, Oxfordshire) for nearly three years. We run a range of clubs, including regular Codeclubs, Digital Makers, Physical Computing, and the occasional competition club, all of which are available to any of the kids in KS2.

We are lucky enough to have been recognised as a Star Club, and we always welcome visitors.

Looking forward to sharing ideas and connecting with other clubs.

When and where the code club is being held.

Unless this forum is for something else.
