Problem with Touchscreen-Driver

Sun Oct 18, 2015 9:44 pm

Hi,

i've got some trouble getting the Touchscreen running on Gentoo. I've installed the needed driver (rpi-ft5406) as Kernel (4.1.10-v7+) Module (also testet built-in). I've loaded the Module but nothing happens. Nether a Event-Device spawns nor a Event in dmesg happens.

Tested the Device with raspian and it worked. So what i'm missing here?

[edit]
I've installed arch-Linux and inspected the Kernel-Config. Was building the Kernel with the config from Arch-Linux but same Problem. The ft5406 is running on Arch but not on Gentoo.

Does the Device needs a firmware-blob or something else?! This would explain why the Device works on Raspian and Arch but not in Gentoo.

Thanks :)

Best Regards Spectre

I've found the Problem...

The Perl-Script mkknlimg (in */scripts/) can't decompress a XZ compressed kernel... So it doesn't do it's voodoo to the Kernel. After rebuild the kernel and compressing it with gzip it's working.

The final Problem is that unxz is not actual enough to support the Parameter "--single-stream". Updating xz-utils to 5.2.2 solves the Problem. I've opened a Issue on git because of that Problem.
