Screen resolution query

Mon Sep 28, 2015 5:08 pm

Hi,

Been trying to get an app to play nicely with my Pi2 & official touchscreen, and have wandered into the Display Settings area of Preferences. I'm a little surprised not to see the quoted resolution, but instead am told it's 752x448 :o

Is this right ? Surely my Pi has (somehow) managed to not go into full res ? How can I get the quoted 800x480 ?

I have a feeling that this is very closely related to this: viewtopic.php?f=108&t=121781

I could certainly imagine an incorrect screen resolution throwing off the touchscreen which will be correctly set to 800x480!

Although I've no idea why it happens! It could be a flaky DSI ribbon cable connection causing a failure to detect the screen properly, but that's a guess at best.

A little digging found this: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=120260

This could be worth a try:

run raspi-config
then select Advanced Options -> Overscan -> Disable

Same here! Touch was off-set, black bars all around the screen, disabling overscan fixed it. Re-enabling (and rebooting) and it is still fixed. Strange... but it is fixed now.
Thanx for the suggestions!
