I cannot get my official touchscreen working with a Raspberry pi 3 b.
As pictured here;
https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/ra ... 3-model-b/
I've got the latest version of Raspbian, have tried powering both screen and pi with seperate power, have tried it with GPIO power pass through, nothing works, at no time do I get a display on the touchscreen.
If I plug an HDMI cable in the Pi is booting - though it constantly shows the 'high temperature' logo in the top right. It also seems to go on the internet ok to download upgrades (I've done sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo rpi-update and they seem to connect ok) but the browser won't.
I've tried adding "ignore_lcd=0" to the end of config.txt - it seemed to come up from time to time - but that hasn't made a difference.
I've plugged my other Pi - a 3 B+ - in to the screen and that works just fine with the ribbon cable and seperate power supplies, so I know the display is ok.
I know I'm meant to do "dmesg | grep -i FT5406" or something, (I've read this viewtopic.php?t=122891) but I think I've reached the end of my knowledge, it's getting into long lines I can't recreate - (Incidentally I'm not 100% on how to type a | symbol?) - so could do with some help.
Is the Pi itself buggered perhaps?
