MagPi 56 - Incredible Raspberry Pi Projects

Thu Mar 30, 2017 10:42 am

I've just been having a read through this, mainly the OS choice at the moment.
https://www.raspberrypi.org/magpi/issues/56/
Some OS's for me to have a look at, the camera one seems interesting.

Noticed one error, oddly for Raspian.
You say there is no graphical manger installing but there is.

Hang on I've just check online and it different, it also seems to have quite a few more OSs covered than my print version (unless i was sleeping?)
It jumped from Raspian to something like osmc/ RetroPie.
Some 3 or 4 more pages?

Am i dreaming or is there a big error in the print sent out?

From my reading they are all in the print version.

As for the graphical package manager that was a source of some mirth in the office yesterday...well, mirth from me, not so much from the guy who wrote the package manager interface a year ago!

I'll check when i get back home as i left it there. Re the missing OSs... I have a niggle i didn't see the Monopoly either. :-s
At least graphical manager has changed in the online version.
It's also an easy place to alter the sources file.

If they are missing (at least in mine) then it would make sense that this line 'When we talked about Slack on an earlier page' for slaxmc, which was going to be my other error. Is not actually an error.

Pages 60->69 in my print copy.

Apparently my pages have found their way into my copy while I was at work, cheeky things, wonder where they have been hiding.
and monopoly is sat there between the reaction game and the glsl shaders walkthrough.
More to read :-)

Still I'll continue to use the GUI package manager that apparently isn't there ;-)

My fault about the package manager. Simon will probably never let me live it down
