Supported USB Devices, Build Notes/Images

Sat May 30, 2015 3:02 am

I have so many ideas but having a hard time figuring out what USB devices are support and what are not.

I have a few ideas that use the CSR 4.0 BLE modules ( but you don't have a stack yet...) and the Adafruit Bluefruit Friend device that uses a USB CDC connection. The second idea is to use a usb video capture device for vision applications. Any lists on what will and wont work?

Also can you point me to the site that shows recent builds and release notes? I would love to keep up with things.

The number of supported USB devices is currently very limited. The product group are currently porting other drivers to this platform. You can find the, albeit short, list of supported USB devices here: http://ms-iot.github.io/content/en-US/w ... herals.htm
Fixed broken url. Will, in future, use preview option.

That is a short list indeed. In fact it's "404 - File not found".

Is your scanner in HID mode? If so it should work.

It should, but it does not. :(

For the moment the only other option we can suggest is plugging the scanner in after boot. Beyond that, hold tight and I believe this should be resolved for you in a future updated OS update.

There have been a number of issues with certain HID USB devices. These should be addressed in the next Win10 IoT drop.

A new drop yesterday:
http://ms-iot.github.io/content/en-US/w ... eNotes.htm

Seems that they are working on supporting a number of USB cameras, but have not released any sort of list yet.

Is WiFi supported on Windows 10 IoT Core?

We are in the process of getting WiFi ready, but it is not in the build that is currently publicly available.
