Re: magnification software

There is this page about changing the command line font size when you use the Wheezy command line stuff.

http://elinux.org/RPi_Command_line_font_size

This is a fist step I will look into making a Rasbian image that defaults to the larger font. ;)

Make sure your OS is updated it could also be a driver issue.

Just to clarify Is this model "B"?

Re: Pi for Audio Processing?

Boot up time measured in seconds the number depending on what is set to load at boot time with or without network connections but network would be reccomended while you set things up but would not be required for final situation. But the RPi sounds like it will do what you need there are hundreds od...

Re: Safety And The Pi

Sorry just to make sure this is understood I am not saying a flaky PSU will cause the RPi to explode but that there are so many fake PSU's out there that you have a much grater chance you will have an issue with a PSU than you will ever have with the RPi plugged into it. A PSU bought from a reputabl...

Make sure you have followed the instructions even if this means print a copy of the instructions and cross off each step as you do it. It's all too easy to miss out a step or add a spurious step no matter how simple the instructions. ;) Aircrew use a checklist for this very reason. Be prepared to ha...

It's guaranteed to be a cheap computer that will run a wide verity of open source software on a pocket money budget and have a number of display options based on a domestic TV ;)

BTW Satisfaction cannot be guaruanteed without some estimate of your expectations.

Re: Volume buttons

The presumption here you are talking about audio volume. The normal method of increasing the RPi audio volume has two lines of approach the primary method is to use amplified speakers with their own power and volume control. Almost any external speakers with a power supply and amplification you can ...

In an effort to get this rolling I going to suggest that we look at The Cathedral & The Bazzaar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cathedral_and_the_Bazaar It is also available as audio. This essay looks at one of the key differences between the Oprating Systems produced by the big boys of commercial ...

We had the same policy at Telewest for all the same reasons there I was resposible for raising the tickets for those that did not have access to the ticket system. ;)

We used the ticket system to analyse the job accounting for departments.

I don't have an issue I was just pointing out the micro USB was the delicate point. I use a belkin power hub and have that set up with an in line power switch so I can make and break the power. ;) BTW I have two phones with broken micro USB connectors and not one broken USB socket in years of ussage.

Re: Turning Rasperry Pi On

If you want to use those toggle points to reset you have to solder your own header onto your pristine Pi. ;)

So for the time being do the shutdown rattus suggests then pull and replace the plug.

I tend not to do this with the Micro USB end as I feel its a little fragile.
