Thanks, tested, works! :D Looks like the IIR filter is defined in the kernel driver [1], but I'm not sure yet if it's fixed at X4 or there is a way of changing it from the user space. I don't see any IIR filter settings in the tree. Do you know if it's implemented? I'll need it - the sensor will be part of a cycling computer and filtering will be crucial.

Could it be that Dougie's way does not work because in the Python setup the sensor is connected via SPI, and not I2C? I changed the connection to I2C. I see it now, but the address is 0x77, not 0x76. Thanks! That "BMP280 returned 0 instead of 88. Expect problems." tells me that my driver don't see bmp280. What gpio did you use? It has to be somewhere "free", so GPIO can simulate SPI. I2C doesn't work yet.

The degree sign issue is strange. What error did you get?

There is nothing in /sys/bus/iio/devices, I guess I have communication problem.

I vote for frying - 9600 8-N-1 used to work fine. I found a potential replacement, better and cheaper. This [1] or this [2].

I'm fairly sure I fried D1. I shifted connection by one pin on the rpi side, so: VIN on gps was connected to 5V on rpi (OK) - pin 2 GND on gps was connected to 5V on rpi (OK) - pin 4 RX on gps was connected to GND on rpi (NOT OK) - pin 6 <-- that probably fried D1 TX on gps was connected to TX on rp...

OK, GPIO14/15 or UART0_RX and UART_TX. I got the loopback working, so I might have problem with gps module.
I'm trying to get the adafruit gps module to work on pi zero w.

I use pi zero w + BLE speed and cadence sensors and a few more for heart rate, pressure/altitude, temperature, GPS & more. Keeping all exceptions from bluepy under control was a major challenge. Code is here: https://github.com/PrzemoF/Open-Cycling-Computer

I think a few people might be interested to see that simple code [1] as there were problems with getting piTFT touchscreen to work due to various libsdl/pygame/tslib problems. python-evdev is simple and works.

Fresh raspbian install, sd resize (automatic), system update from initial wizard, wifi localisation from gui, rebot and still no wifi.
sudo raspi-config doesn't allow wifi localisation change and tell me there is no wifi. dmesg shows the same errors. I think the hardware is faulty.
