Re: Inconsistent behaviour of time.clock() after time.sleep(

Yes, it number of second since 1970.01.01. Storing a few bytes more shoudn't be a problem and I suggested it because you had a problem with funcion that is deprecated in python 3.3 [1], so you should avoid using it if possible anyway.

Re: Inconsistent behaviour of time.clock() after time.sleep(

Some suggestions about coding style: 1. UsingVariableNameThatIsCrazyLongDoesNotImproveReadability, I'd prefer to read t_btn_pressed instead timeElapsedSinceLastButtonPressed, but that's just me 2. Comments line before command unless very short: timeElapsedSinceLastButtonPressed = 0 # To keep track o...

More info here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewt ... 02#p697702
I'm currently backfeeding 3.7V to GPIO, but I didn't test the time yet.

Re: Best battery to power a portable media centre?

I'd start with power supply requirements (5V or 3.3V? or 3.7V?) and expected run time. Then calculate battey capacity and check it's size.
A reference point: I have model A+ with 2.8" display running of 2500 mAh battery for ~8 hours taking ~0.2A (no wifi)

Re: Model A+ blender model

I found this [1] and it should be enough. If we could get board drawing for model A+ it would be perfect. " -o receive_override_options=no_unknown_recipient_checks,no_header_body_checks"

in "Set Postfix to use ClamSMTP" in the ubuntu guide?

Re: Email server

Can you post a link to the tutorial you used? How does it fail? Is there an error message? Is there anything in the logs that could tell what's wrong?

Doing something in a wrong way 20 times should give you 20 failures, so that part is OK ;-)

Re: Model A+ blender model

Yes, it's a .blend model, but anything really that I can convert to something usable would be good. Could you share the bare board model? That should make positioning of elements much easier. I wanted do create a model that could be used to design cases, but with pcb model I could take it a step fur...

Model A+ battery powered

I couldn't find any info about battery powered model A+, so I had to test it :D I just connected model A+ to a 2500 mAh lipo battery. Connection was through adafruit lipoly charger to rpi usb power supply (not to the GPIO header) instaed of the usual 5V. The whole thing takes 190-230mA, so I hope to...

Microsoft windows 10 on pi2

What do you think about the idea of windows on pi2? I'm not a big fan of it and I'm affraid that it might cause more bad than good.

Edit. The original question was not precise enough. I'm asking about microsoft windows 10

Bluetooth LE - tester needed

I'm looking for someone to test notifications on a BLE device using gatttool. I wrote a post here [1], but I can test it only on one BLE device which is not a big sample ;-) I'm mostly concerned about the notification part as plain read from BLE seems to be quite straightforward. I used fedora, but ...

Re: Fastest booting OS

Thanks again for the replies! The details: I'm working on an open cycling computer written in python, based on pygame running on model A+. The display is PiTFT capacitive, so I don't care about GPU (gpu_mem set to 32MB, HDMI will be switched off). The framebuffer is handled directly from pygame, so ...

Re: Fastest booting OS

What is the fastest booting Linux OS for the Pi? Why is it important? Even the fully bloated Raspbian comes up before you can say "Raspbian runs". It's an old thread, but the issue remains exactly the same.. Mine model A+ takes about a minute to boot - way too long for me as it will run a battery p...

Re: I2C strange behaviour of MMA8451

Thanks! I have to investigate it. Anyway, without those 2 commands the sensor shows up on the bus, but I can read only zero from the WHO_AM_I register. I'll try to code software reset. P.S. Those 2 lines in the rc.local and software reset seems to fix the problem: pi@occberry ~ $ sudo ./i2ctest.py 2...

I have a MMA8451 [1] connected to RPI. I2C - software emulation, python, RPi.GPIO

I need to use I2C for an accelerometer [1]. Hardware I2C in rpi doesn't seem to be an option as the accelerometer uses repeated start signal and looks like rpi I2C doesn't do that. So my only option is software emulation of I2C. I need advice what is better: swiching gpio pins from OUT to IN and bac...
