Re: Unstable driver (?) for wireless keyboard and mouse..

I can confirm the same issue. The problem occurs with different brands of wireless mouses/keyboards (Logitech and Microsoft) and different brands of usb 3 ssd (Sandisk and Toshiba) combinations. No combination has been stable, all have displayed random instances of the mouse ceasing to respond. Thi...

Transcoding on Buster and the RPi 4

A few weeks ago I updated my first system to Buster (a RPi 2B running from HDD with Boot partition on SD card). The first step after fine tuning the system was to update my published software to Buster (kweb suite, rpiotrtool). Then I started to work on rtranscode V 4.0. I had only to modify a few l...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

I updated and created the udev file. It did not work immediately. I had to reboot the system to get it to work. PI:HDMI was not automatically enabled. I had to enable it myself. Yes, you need to reboot for the udev rule to apply. And the changes above only applies for people installing the latest v...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

What does it say in Kodi -> System Information -> Video, in the right panel ? The interface is completely sluggish. Processor load is 95% (on all 4 cores), if something is happening on the screen (mouse movement or showing the processor load). It almost looks like using software mesa. GPU: Ilvmpipe...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

Thanks. The thing is, the RPi 4 support is still a bit experimental, not only from this packages, but also upstream, it may be a bit early still. I believe the idea for Kodi 19 is to leave GBM + MMAL and go for GBM + v4l2. From my part, I already found 1 or 2 bugs + 1 or 2 things to improve. But of...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

Thanks, Rascas, for the great work you have done (again). But there is one thing I don't understand: In the future it may be available in the Raspberrypi.org repo if the guys are interested, making things easier. They have done it in the past for Stretch. Why shouldn't they do it now? I know how muc...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

As I've said before, some kind of cooling has always been required since the RPi 3B if you want to avoid throttling when running high loads for some time. The RPi 2B has been the last RPi board which could be placed into a closed plastic box without providing any cooling. My real world test case has...

@ProDigit: Your wildly speculative nonsense is completely off-topic in this thread. A mod might decide to close it because of this, although the thread topic is quite important. You told us, that you don't want to buy a RPi 4. That's your business, but then you should keep your mouth shut about the ...

Re: Good reasons to buy the latest Rpi 4 with 4G RAM?

Don't do it. Don't buy. Unless you want to spend your days fixing a broken OS like it's 1999. Gave my last remaning Pi4 to my daughter to play with and even after a reinstall of the OS it still super flaky. She hates it, too. Had a good one yesterday: The mouse was working but not moving the cursor...

Re: New P4 HDMI sockets

Well there is a thing. If I want to buy a micro HDMI cable locally it will cost 25 Euro. I can order from the nearest official Pi seller in Sweden and pay 20 Euro. Now, that is not a lot perhaps but it soon mounts up when you need more than one. Or I can take a chance and pay 2 Euro plus a bit post...

Obviously you have no idea about all the efforts to create a version for Raspbian Buster. You should stop spamming the forum w...

gkreidl, Great to have the link to the word of the law. But TL;DR. Could you summarize how the Data Protection Act applies to this forum. Re: Delete forum account

So far as I know, there isn't one. You can just stop posting as the easiest solution. Well, I'd like the difficult solution that is also kind of required by law. Please cite a specific law that has that requirement and applies to the UK. Data Protection Act 2018 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

I've said it before, but things like cpuburn are a pathological/extreme/very worst case. It's very rare to find that sort of workload on a device. It's loading up all four cores, with NEON running full tilt. Normal desktop use won't do that, or anything near it. The only use case I can think of tha...

sudo apt-get install idle-python3.7

If you want a better Idle, run afterwards
sudo pip3 install idlex

This adds almost everything which is missing in standard Idle.
