Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

To be more accurate, the working toki version is "tokib". I now use advancemenu with a mix of mame4all / pifba / retroarch / pisnes... It's getting pretty great. Also I use MAME4all instead of piFBA whenever possible. The latter if faster but the input latency is better with the former. So for inst...

Re: Some questions about Retroarch, Neogeo emulation and sha

Hi and thank you for your answer :) And what about SNES, NES and Genesis emulation on RetroArch with "phosphor" shader enabled? It is possible to reach full speed? Unfortunately I'm not a developer, nevertheless how much "difficult" would be to modify the basic GLSL shader built in piFBA and piMAME4...

Some questions about Retroarch, Neogeo emulation and shaders

Hi everybody, it seems that RetroArch on Raspberry Pi now supports shaders. :o So, before starting compiling, tutorials etc. I'd really like to get an idea, if possible, of what are performances on a (overclocked) rPi running Neogeo games with RetroArch and a crt-like shader, like Phosphor... Thank ...

@Nekosaur
...could you share (listing) the content of your Neogeo.zip?
Thank you!

@KitchUK
I will list the content of my neogeo.zip soon, but maybe that of Nekosaur is better, 'cause I'm not able to load Unibios. ;)

Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

antiriad Yes I use the unibios. I also have the same problem where I cannot open the service menu of neo geo games. I have tried numerous different bios's and configurations and nothing works, all I get is a black screen. If you use PiFBA with CPS 1/2 roms it works fine and you are able to bring up...

Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

antiriad Try taking the kof2000.zip and placing all the files from inside it and placing them into the kof2000n.zip, along with the unibios. Then it should work. That's how I got it to work. Hi and thank you for your suggestion, I'll check this way. BTW: are you able to use Unibios in PiFBA? I have...

Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

I think I've found a bug: when I try to load "kof2000.zip" (the King of Fighters 2000) fba2x quits with a "segmentation fault".
I'd like to write to Pudding, but maybe someone could test it also?

All previews are animated MNG downloaded from official site. So they are not 'Snapshots' Tiles but animated mng files? Where did you download them from? From here (bottom of the page) http://advancemame.sourceforge.net/menu-download.html The archives has both the MNG (for video) and MP3 (for audio)...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.14 released

Hi Patrick, "Halloween Harry" (aka "Alien Carnage") is a wonderful platform game recently declared freeware by Apogee/3D Realms: http://www.3drealms.com/carnage/ I've tested it on rpix86 but unfortunately, after the intro and the selection of levels, the game crashes and exits to DOS. Maybe can you ...

Re: Tutorial: How to install Chocolate Doom w/ sound on Rasp

This surely sound interesting, but it is possible to install this Retroarch port without using a pre-made SD card image? I mean: I would like to add manually emulators and portings to my config. I'd like also to run Doom without entering in X. There is a tutorial? Thanks

Re: Tutorial: How to install Chocolate Doom w/ sound on Rasp

@antiriad: Look for the timidity service launch script in /etc/init.d Let's say it's something like "/etc/init.d/timidity". Now simply disable that script: "sudo insserv -r timidity" Thank you for your support. So I suppose it will need to be loaded manually before running Chocolate DOOM? Another q...

I don't know if this is pertinent, but ensure that you are using a 60hz video mode.

Re: Tutorial: How to install Chocolate Doom w/ sound on Rasp

Hi,
I'd like to install chocolate Doom on my rPi, but I don't like the fact that timidity run at boot occupying (also a small amount of) RAM. There is a way to avoid this?

Thank you!

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

antiriad Ive seen this before and am not convinced. The decapitation is just a scene on the attract sequence and doesn't appear in the actual game. I believe its a Hacked or Bootleg ROM (the Warning text on boot doesn't look like the usual font SEGA use and they have never confirmed its validity). ...
