Re: X11 Forwarding Question

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to reply... I think I see the issue, I use Bitvise Client rather than Putty, with that you can click a button to open another “Terminal Console”, what I think its doing (after the prompt by you) is actually opening another SSH session.... Its just that it caches the lo...

Working Bluetooth Dongle

Hi, Can someone recommend a USB Bluetooth dongle that works with the latest 2014-09-09 (3.12 Kernel) Raspian image. I already have one of one of these from ModMyPi but get the dreaded "Can't init device hci0: Operation not supported (95)" https://www.modmypi.com/nano-bluethooth-dongle?filter_name=bl...

X11 Forwarding Question

Hi, I’ve been playing with X11 forwarding and to a degree got things to work, however.... I can start my SSH Client open a Terminal Console, run say lxtask and I get the lxtask window pop up, great. If I open another Console window and try to open say xclock I get an error Incorrect authorization co...

Re: Recommended remote server Vino or TightVNC

Hi,

If you don't need multiple desktops I found X11VNC easier to setup and administer, like the others have said security will be an issue with most VNC packages though. I would recommend tunneling in if you need external access.....

Re: New web browser - it's here!

Hi, @fruitoftheloom I flashed the 2014-09-09 Rasbian image on to a new, admittedly not virgin card and tired the browser both before and after updates. I didn't do an rpi-update, but then reading here it should be working out the box on a new install. Fairly certain its not a card issue as I saw the...

Re: New web browser - it's here!

Hi, I seem to be having issues with epiphany :( It starts quickly enough, however takes several minutes to load a page after typing in the address, the blue bar crawls along the top.. The complexity of the site seems irrelevant, google, bbc news, here..... While loading there is little CPU usage. Th...

Re: Problem whit Bluetooth

Hi, I have a ModMyPi Bluetooth dongle, for me BT has been broken since the Dec release of Raspbian and still is, its not a Pi specific issue most Linux flavors have had the same issue. I started a thread here:- http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66336 Maybe worth having a look, you ca...

Re: Bluetooth broken in latest releases

Hi Vinc,

An after thought have you got copies of the patched source files ?

That would make it easier for people to compile their own kernel, I'm not too sure what was patched in 3.12 either.

Re: SATA Hard Drive

If you go with a 2.5" drive things are simplified as they can be powered directly through USB, you would need a hub though as they draw a bit too much from the Pi directly....

I brought a 2nd hand drive and £5 case from fleabay and have had no issues at all, works like a charm...

Hi,

Had a few issues, xfce wouldn't load (startxfce4)? I think was due to me not resizing the partition, but I was only using a 2gig card, is this enough just for playing ?
