Re: Emulation Station goes into sleep mode

The commands below should fix it. I had to apply the same fix to my UltraSlim.

Code: Select all

sudo sed -i 's/BLANK_TIME=30/BLANK_TIME=0/g' /etc/kbd/config
sudo sed -i 's/POWERDOWN_TIME=30/POWERDOWN_TIME=0/g' /etc/kbd/config

Yes, sometimes updates break stuff or the build does not compile right. Which is why I included a backup option in the update script. Can save you some headaches if something goes wrong.

Here is my xbmc.sh script, which starts the xboxdrv and kills it when I quit xbmc. I use it on a 2.4ghz ps3 controller but you should have a eaiser go with a official xbox 360 controller. You may need to google how to setup the xboxdrv. #!/bin/bash setterm -cursor off sudo xboxdrv --type xbox360 --c...

Wifi works fine. You just have to configure it. I use wifi on 1.5 with my 2nd pi.

Is your remote not mapped to keyboard command's? If not, you might need a custom xbmc remote.xml. Try pulling it from openelec. As far as the Samba issue goes, that sounds like you need to set up your share correctly on your pc. If it is using a password, make sure you tell xbmc what the username/pa...

Joystick support is disabled in xbmc. There are ways however to use your controller with xbmc. I personally use the xboxdrv and map keyboard commands to the controller. Not easy to setup, but works well.

I remember reading somewhere there was a reason why. But yes, I wish it would make a return.
Edit: Found the reason here and here.

Doable. Maybe heat would be a issue (mainly from stepping down the power)? So I would throw in a small van to despell heat. Will you be using CEC? If so, you can gladly put it out of site behind the tv.

I have no clue. Another option you may want to try is using the xboxdrv, which also supports ps3 controllers.

Did you plan to support more hardware/console system with ultraslim for the next version or just built it around retroarch ? (not bad but not perfect in most case with the raspberry) If alot of people want a certain emulator, I would have no problem including it. Although I did try to add the most ...

The script's are still there. Just with the .bak extention. Rename em to .sh if you want to use em. Also reinstall vnc via apt.

Re: 11/25 UltraSlim = Retro/Gaming/Q3|XBMC 12/13|Desktop + m

It's not a bug. That happens when you try to edit gamelist.xml with emulationstation still open. Close it down, then edit. As always after some edits, you might want to back it up before opening emulationstation, as emulationstation will write to it that file.

Re: 11/25 UltraSlim = Retro/Gaming/Q3|XBMC 12/13|Desktop + m

You could create a "Torrent.sh" script to load/start it from within emulationstation. Just need's to be placed in "~/Roms/apps/". XBMC does not close anything down and never has.

I don't play 700 different games. Maybe 10-15 per system at most. Those big libraries are nice for show, and that's about it ;p But it does not take long to find a image and type the game name in to create gamelist.xml. Here is my template. Sure, it takes longer, but the end result is better. <?xml ...

Emulationstation actually has alot of dependencies. ~200MB or so worth. Where as something like advmenu has almost none. But I do prefer emulationstation over advmenu for a number of reasons. If we were to split up the "mame" catagory we would likely need some more themes for each sub catagory. A ea...

piFBA? Nope, got to edit the config by hand. BTW, you don't need ES_Scraper. I created all my gamelist.xml's by editing manually. So much stuff was missing when I did it using es_scraper I was better off.
