Just to clarify, the BT side of your set up is a WiFi hotspot and the Netgear WAN port is actually an Ethernet port? Does that sound right?

Do you have any other way of accessing the internet? Have you tried connecting the Pi to one of the other ports on the Netgear device?

Re: A DIY PoE solution

I know most of the above do not deliver the power into the Ethernet plug of the RPi but If pins 4 and 5 were joined to each other and pins 7 and 8 were joined to each other and lets say 24volts applied would this damage anything on the RPi? Are these unused pins connected to anything? If the above o...

thnx psycho that pre-empts what would have been my next question too ;-)

thnx tvoverbeek that last link is brilliant, but is it series or parallel?
I always get mixed up; I'll do it by the drawing, 'SCL & SDA lines are connected to all devices'.

Multiple I2C devices.

I can wire up an RTC to SDA0 and SCL0 and that works fine but I also want to connect an MCP23008 to get some extra ports.

How can I connect this when the pins are in use, do I have to disconnect the RTC?

Re: Roco Z21, touchscreen and the Pi

I have used the JMRI software and found it very good. I didn't use your particular combination of hardware but there is lots of info on Google:- but I'm not clear what you really want to do, will the Z21 or the RPi be your command station? see also :- http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?...

Re: Pi = DCC for model railways?

I would recommend the Sprog:-

and for some great software to control it and your layout:-

http://jmri.sourceforge.net/

see the thread below also:-
