Re: Need help with using class

You have

Code: Select all

        print zgoraj, spodaj, c, d, e, f, g, h, i
        return zgoraj, spodaj, c, d, e, f, g, h, i
at the end of the slave_160 class and in main.py you print

Code: Select all

print show_temp[0]

Re: Autostart python on reboot

..... Adding "sudo" will "fix" this "problem". Just to repeat what you are saying but in a different way .... sudo is what caused that problem in the first place. To really repair the problem of creating a simple file with elevated powers you would need to use chown pi filename to once and for all ...

Re: use php and html to present data

This is a great project, I'm sure lots of people are watching it. I hope you carry on with even without the pressure of exams ;-)

Have you any plans of what to do next? Maybe send an alert when there is spare electricity, maybe turn on the water heater to use it.

Many have tried and many have failed.

I wonder if there is someone who could make a ready made and working image so that we could all download and use it?

The best way I know of is to use the Raspbian operating system and to link the two with an Ethernet cable.

Yup, looks like that is the way to go...long version:- #!/usr/bin/python3 import json str = '''GET /?Node=0&Name=Kitchen&Time=1478177592739&Temperature=19 HTTP/1.1 Host: 123.123.123.123:8080 Accept: */*''' print('') print('################################') print('### The starting string is:- ###') ...

Many thanks, I'll have a look.

I realise it's one of those dreadful 'how long is a piece of string' type questions but I'd googled till my eyes were sore and still didn't know what question to ask!

Thanks, here is the code, the output above comes from the print(request) #! /usr/bin/python3 import socket HOST, PORT = '', 8080 listen_socket = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET, socket.SOCK_STREAM) listen_socket.setsockopt(socket.SOL_SOCKET, socket.SO_REUSEADDR, 1) listen_socket.bind((HOST, PORT)) list...

Parsing data.

I'm experimenting with a small, simple, Python3 server and have got to the stage where I have received the following into a string:-

Code: Select all

GET /?Node=0&Name=Kitchen&Time=1478177592739&Temperature=19 HTTP/1.1
Host: 123.123.123.123:8080
Accept: */*

Is there a recommended way to extract the data?

Re: How to wirelessly connect Pi 3 to Espressif

Do you plan to use this on a home network? A home router will normally have a WiFi access point, this is what you would connect the ESP to. The RPi will connect to the same router, either by wire ethernet or by WiFi. The RPi model 3 has built in WiFi ... other models do no so it depends what instruc...

S'Funny post title. If you substitute the word PIXEL for almost any other piece of software ever written, it's still a valid question. Has any user of "Windows" actually read the licence agreement? Has any user of "Ubuntu" actually read the licence agreement? Has any user of "iTunes" actually read ...

Re: truly wireless remote RPi

hummm, good point! There is indeed no breaker between the socket and the inverter, not even a fuse. This was installed two years ago, when did that reg come out? The other problem is that since it is a 13amp socket I now have a freezer plugged into it instead of the powerLan adapter that they suppli...

Re: truly wireless remote RPi

Well, why not use a set of DLAN (PowerLAN) adapters? One unit is mounted next to your solar panel array, the other one is in your house. Under UK regulations, that is not allowed. There must be NO current using equipment (only the inverter) on the solar power circuit. I can't speak for regulations ...

Re: How to keep a valve open?

It's hard to tell what you really want :? but this is what you have :) Every time this runs it will set GPIO.output(29, False) and print Float running... Assuming you have corrected the indentation then depending on input_value it will GPIO.cleanup() and exit immediately or after a delay.

Re: Garage port opener - 100$ bonus

Sounds like a floating line somewhere, probably on the input to the relay? Try tracking a few key points with a volt meter, if you find a line where the voltage is slowly drifting then a pull down resistor might fix it. In the meantime a few questions :) ...How do you communicate between the RPi and...

Re: Setup WAN with Neighbour over Internet?

You both have a spare RPi, I'm sure a 100% RPi solution is possible. Do you both have WiFi on the RPi ? You could set up one RPi as an AP (WiFi access point) Google 'Using Raspberry Pi as a WiFi AP' Do you both have existing internet? If so VPN is a good way to go. This might be zero cost. Do Either...

Make sure you NEVER connect 12v to the RPi. It looks from the cables you have shown that it could happen by accident if plugged in wrong!
