Re: when will Raspberry pi 4 + windows 10

Interesting link.
Never say "Never"?

Has MS noticed that the third biggest selling "PC" is a tiny SBC coming from the UK?
Have they noticed kids are growing up using them and learning Linux by osmosis?
The writing is on the wall for MS and has been for years.

Finally noticed the Dolphin stuff and googled it :o Wow , you guys have been busy. And what a bunch of wet blankets on the Dolphin forums. Sakaki has it in the repo so it was a quick emerge ;) Don't have any GameCube or Wii games. But I have some DOS games on floppies somewhere  And DosBox is o...

That's before my time?
So going to try that on the VC4 Pi's, thanks for the link.

Re: RPi 4 OpenVG Support?

FlightGear works on Pi4's.
it uses ShivaVG to convert SVG to OpenVG on OpenGL :o
OpenVG has been removed from Mesa in version 10.6.
Hmm wonder how it did it?
Grab the old code?

Gosh, this is on a very old spec of Pi and they run really well!
Huh? Pi4 is the newest Pi.
The older Pi's only do OpenGLES 2.0, lower capability shaders.

Re: Dual output for 3D stereo projection?

I had a play with Bino and Stereoscopic Player in Windows. Lots of options to tinker with, dual and single screen. Bino should work on the Pi4 if you can compile it. Someone with two screen working should try it I so need to make some coloured glasses 8-) Saw a new "White" laser from SDL, projectors...

Re: A modest (passive) suggestion

Speed controlled by USB? 4 USB ports = Pi drones?
5V at 1.2amps = 6 watts, nope not enough power for takeoff.
But old toy drone motors would make small fans.
The smallest would be the 4mm dia tail rotor motor from the RC helicopter toys?

Get a Pi4 and see for yourself. ;) WebGL examples in a Browser pushes Pi4. https://webglsamples.org/ There was a rolling hills demo with flocks of birds that impressed me. Re: Looking for specific software

Do a google for Linux Postit notes, see what shows up.
Try to apt-get install them.

Debian might be behind so if install does not work try grabbing the source and making the app yourself.
Some stuff just works now on Pi4's.
It is sometimes just a case of no one has tried it before.

Plan B long term?
https://www.khronos.org/openxr/
This compiled, but I have no idea how to use it yet.

More for AR/VR games than 3D recorded videos?
Now we just need the Pi equivalent of the google cardboard.
A dual HDMI display headset.
Perhaps with an i2c/SPI based motion sensor?

apk files are just zip files with another name? I think Alpine Linux uses apks? While Android uses old Linux 3.? kernels the graphics output is different than Linux X11. If ARM Android apks can run on x86 Windows with Bluestacks it should be able to run on Pi4's. The answer is "Yes" in theory, "No "...

Bino uses OpenGL and has dual/multi screen options.
I will need to try it on my dual screens at work ;)
Might have to have a chat with the media labs guys around the place, this looks useful.

I was looking for VR software, this Bino might do it.

Re: Dual output for 3D stereo projection?

Are you using shutter glasses? I have programmed the General purpose clock output 0 on the older Pi's GPIO. If you use the HDMI clock as the source input, it might divide down and sync. With 4K the best will be 30Hz? That might be noticeable. You might have to wait for the new BCM2711 peripheral man...

Re: Think to install Ubuntu desktop os in raspberry pi 4

If/when Ubuntu ARM get ported to the Pi4 it will probably be at least 19.x not 18.x. You might need Linux Kernel 5+ and Mesa 19.2+. That is going to be newer releases, not old ones, unless someone knows how to back port. Generally it has been the Server version not the Desktop version on ARM. I thin...
