Re: Pi Zero new feature

The Raspberry Pi Zero is an excellent product for the appropriate application. Any additional features would be a bonus! At $5 is has a superb price, and makes many projects viable - even adding the additionals like SD/Power/Wifi things. I can't wait for production catching up with demand - only the...

Check this website - it shows who has stock

http://nvdd.info/1ROCvYy

It would be great to have some more info from the people in the know?

Did you achieve your production targets? I know this would be a great one for the Raspberry Pi Foundation!

OMXPLAYER and terminal screen

Hi, I am running OMXPLAYER from a Python script with a sqlite3 db to manage the playlist - works well :) Between 2 videos there is a space of around 1 second. But during this pause the terminal screen shows. How do I get rid of this? The problem is partially solved when the terminal screen goes "Bla...

Re: Python3 and SMBUS

Hi Joan,

thanks for the link to pigpio. Looks great.

One can install SMBus functionality out of the box for Python 2 with

sudo apt-get install python-smbus

Long answer as info for those newer than me :)

Python3 and SMBUS

Hi, there are calls that everybody should move to Python3 The Raspberry Pi is an educational driver into generating lots of new Python coders. But it seems as if SMBus is not supported out of the box in Python 3 :( I'm new to Python as well - and only started using it because of Raspberry Pi. It doe...

Re: SD card not working anymore

Hi, I had a number of these :( It tends to happen if your power source is not that stable - eg I had an EU type plug that did not fit well on my power source and regularly just "flashed" on and off. This killed the SD card. Join the club of people who gained SD card failure experience :) It is not n...

Small system

Hi,

I have a need to reduce my system to as little as possible running no GUI etc.

Due to slow internet, I'm using the Raspian image.

What can I safely remove to save space?

My start was

apt-get -y remove --purge wolfram-engine sonic-pi

Thanks

Re: USB devices not working on Model A+

Hi,

I have a similar problem.

On my old Model B, my keyboard and mouse is running fine on a USB hub.

However, plugging the same hub with the same moue and keyboard into a Model A+ and it does not work.

Plugging the keyboard straight into the USB port works well.

Any suggestions?

Re: Water Flow Meter - Maybe defective?

If you blow through the meter, can you hear the turbine spin? It sounds much different to when you blow through a normal pipe. The turbine might just be stuck. I was able to turn the turbine in my unit with my finger - and could debug what was happening while turning it. From the photograph I guess ...

Re: Water Flow Meter - Maybe defective?

I have one of these - guess the workings would be the same as yours. Got it running on an Arduino using an interrupt - works well "dry" - next step will be wet testing in a test rig with a pump. Also had problems: Vcc must be at least 5V - Raspberry Pi 5V tends to be just too low in the cases I meas...
