Re: RetroPie no opt folder.

Are you viewing the root directory of the pi? Not just the /home folder?

Try a fresh flash of RetroPie 2.4.2 image?

Also, I would recommend using WinSCP instead of Cyberduck as the performance is better.

Re: CatSFC - Snes Emulator

Gentlemen On initial inspection its slower than the RetroArch: PocketSNES Core, or PiSNES, (although as its baseb on SNES9x 1.43 its obviously more accurate than either!). The exception is SFX powered Titles, seems Star Fox/Wing and Yoshi's Island are much improved over the old Core (PiSNES does no...

Re: CatSFC - Snes Emulator

I tried gradius 3, i know it slowdown when the first dragon shows up. But i don't know if it is a game slowdown or because of the emulator. Both pocketsnes and catsfc shows 60fps on display, even when is slowing down. Same perf here. Do you have a game that is really laggy ? All my games runs well ...

CatSFC - Snes Emulator

Has anyone tried this libretro core yet on the Pi? https://github.com/libretro/CATSFC-libretro I've not had chance to test it myself but it's possible it might have better performance/compatibility. Interesting quote directly from the Libretro blog: Even though we already have a lot of Super Nintend...

I saw the blog on Libretro about the RetroArch 1.1. They also mentioned CatSFC Snes emulator that should hopefully run better for the Raspberry Pi.

Very interesting.

Re: (Retropie) Shaders not working with MAME

I would recommend using the non Retroarch version of mame called MAME4ALL-Pi. Its performs alot better and you can also use inbuilt shaders that look quite good (scanlines).

Re: fceux (NES) port with native GLES2 rendering

Your probably better of staying with the newest version of the retroarch core as it's had some compatibility fixes amongst other improvements. For example 'Battle Kid 2' homebrew rom now works on the newest retroarch core.

Re: RELEASE: EmulationStation 2.0-RC1

Editing your ES config file shouldn't affect the emulaors only the ES front end. If you are playing snes through Retroarch then the settings will be in the retroarch.cfg and retroarch-core-options.cfg. I will fire up a fresh install tonight and see if I get the same audio issues. I am configuring a...

Re: RELEASE: EmulationStation 2.0-RC1

Yeah that's the one!

The music is not a perfect emulation but to my ears it sounds a lot better than regular pockestsnes. It almost sounds like there is more instruments being played and more depth and bass.

Re: RELEASE: EmulationStation 2.0-RC1

Cacophony Have you tried the pocketsnes repo called ARMSNES? It has a lot better sound emulation and other bug fixes and improvements. The only problem at the minute is that doesn't play some games like Killer Instinct and DK Country 2 among others. If the developer can fix those problems I'd say it...

Mr Monotone By 'not working' I mean that there simply isn't any video or sound output. I just get a black screen and then have to boot back to Emulation Station. Try playing the games I mentioned. Jessie I was myself who created that post. Unfortunately with the new version of Retroarch the fix (wor...

Re: Fast booting buildroot based libretro emulator

I noticed that the controls for Mario All-Stars are non responsive in ARMSNES. Is this a bug that can be fixed?

I also noticed some games don't work like Actraiser, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country 2 etc. Do you know why?

I staarted getting the garbled text bug from a couple posts up. I was wondering what the fix was and if I would have to re-scrap my whole library. I assumed this was to do with the GPU memory? What's your current allocation to the GPU? The more systems you have displayed with take a chunk out of th...
