Automount a NAS drive on Jessie not working

Hi I have added a line to /etc/fstab to link to my NAS drive. //192.168.0.11/pishare /home/pi/Documents/pishare cifs guest,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8 0 0 This works fine when I type in sudo mount -a from the terminal, but it does not automount at boot time (as with the last version of Wheezy, ...

Re: Auto mount NAS share at startup

You can also just add the line “mount -a” to the end of /etc/rc.local, before the line “exit 0″. That just forces network shares to be mounted at the end of the boot sequence.

This problem was introduced with the last Raspbian release (May 2015). Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

Re: constantly have to mount -a

I have a pi2 running raspbian and I have mapped it to a wd mycloud NAS. I entered the following in /etc/fstab //myIP/public /home/pi/mynas/myshare cifs guest, workgroup=WORKGROUP, users,auto,user_xattr 0 0 I save and exit. Then I enter sudo mount -a. Everything works just fine and all of my drives a...

Thanks for this. I installed it as described but it will not start from the program menu. When selected the mouse icon spins for a few seconds but nothing happens. It does hovever seem to start ok from the terminal by typing 'fuze'. Am I doing anything wrong? what version pi are you using? it could...

Re: USB drive not automounting

Does anyone have any idea why this isn't working? I'd be grateful for any help. The version of Rasbian (5/5/2015) has a known issue that stops mounts from etc/fstab during bootup. As a workaround you can add "mount -a" to the end of the file /etc/rc.local (before the line "exit 0"), and it will wor...

Well I've no idea how to do that I meant for us. Although the image was tested in a number of scenarios we could think of, it's difficult to predict what everyone might do. Unfortunately, NFS mounts wasn't something that came up while testing, so it's something for us to look into. Okay, sorry I di...

Re: Raspbian released on 2015-05-05

It would probably be a good idea to investigate why net mounts fail as a result. Well I've no idea how to do that, so I have reverted to a previous backup image from before the new updates, and will not install them again. (initially I used the backup networks file as suggested, which worked but ca...

Re: Raspbian released on 2015-05-05

The new image will not auto-mount entries in the fstab file. I have a network shared drive which always auto-mounted during startup but since the update to the gui and also the new image it will not work. I think it is trying to auto mount before the network is connected. Once started the drive can...

I see in your screenshot both wlan0 and wlan1. Is that correct?
I only have a single wireless dongle plugged into a USB slot.

Video Licence Pi2

When the Pi first came out I purchased a Model B and also purchased an mpeg licence for video playback.

I now have a Pi_v2 and can't seem to find where to purchase a video licence in the store. Do I need one on the Pi2, and if so where do I get it from?

Thanks

Thanks for a great first issue. Personally I liked the PDF version and I printed out and stapled together a few copies and left them around the staffroom of the school I work at. They got a lot of interest. Keep up the great work!
